Reagan James Reaches #24 on iTunes R&B/Soul Chart
“Have a Nice Day” proves to be an impressive sophomore effort.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Dallas/Fort Worth (February 2, 2016) –R&B singer-songwriter Reagan James’ January 29 release of “Have a Nice Day” peaked at #24 on the iTunes R&B/Soul chart—an impressive showing for the 17-year-old’s second independently released project.
Having received over 7.5 million views on YouTube and garnering a broad national following of thousands of fans, James has boldly taken the first crucial step in her post- The Voice career with “Have a Nice Day.” The eight-song album—recorded at WaveLight Studios in Fort Worth and written entirely by James, longtime producer Geoff Rockwell, and guitarist Aaron Anthony—has provided the young artist with an opportunity to establish an identity all her own.
The project also serves as yet another striking exhibition of James’ lyrical prowess and melodic genius—gifts that gained her widespread attention via her first studio release “Remedy” (October 2013). Adding to her writing credentials, Central Track ranked James’ single “Blue” (March 2015) Number 8 on the Top 100 Local Songs of 2015, keeping company with other notable artists such as Leon Bridges, Maren Morris, Erykah Badu, and Demi Lovato.
A year in the making, James says the evolution of the new album is the result of hundreds of hours of musical study and an overall broadening of her worldview. In her own words, “The lyrics of these songs are simply a letter to everyone who hears them; enjoy, and have a nice day.”
“Reagan James possesses a soul, verve, and swagger way beyond her years. Her unapologetic love for Erykah Badu, Norah Jones, and Amy Winehouse is apparent from the first note, so hearing her voice is like a conversation among those three at post-work cocktails - and yet she is her own woman. She is the future!” - Gio Washington-Wright, Woodwind Artist-Composer-Arranger-Producer: Craig Robinson, Meghan Trainor, Mary Wilson, & Estelle
“The country got a little taste of what Reagan could do when she appeared on Season 7 of The Voice. And to hear how her sound has evolved since that time is pure joy. I can't wait for the world to hear and see her soul truly shine.” - Kellie Rasberry, Co-Host, Kidd Kraddick in the Morning Show
