Reagan James Signs Exclusive Licensing Deal with Musicbed and Releases New Single “Dream”
FORT WORTH – FEBRUARY 1, 2017 – Local songwriter and R&B artist Reagan James has signed a two-year exclusive licensing deal with Musicbed – a music licensing organization servicing independent filmmakers, as well as clients such as Nike, Samsung, and Sony Pictures. Musicbed, launched in 2011 and based in Fort Worth, provides its customers with quality musical selections from its highly curated original song catalog, comprised of compositions from more than 600 artists.
“Musicbed accepts only one percent of all music submitted. The Reagan James team is beyond proud to be affiliated with such a carefully curated group of artists and innovators,” said James’ longtime manager and producer, Geoff Rockwell. “Their team has been outstanding to work with through the entire process, and we’re looking forward to contributing to their continued growth as we continue to make the music we want to make.”
James has worked to establish herself, first and foremost, as a songwriter, having released two full-length albums before the age of 18, as well as numerous singles.
“As a lover of words and honest expression, the importance of writing, for me, has always transcended the joy of performance," said James.
As part of the deal, Musicbed will acquire licensing rights to James’ latest full-length album Have a Nice Day (January, 2016) along with various singles released since achieving Top 10 status on Season 7 of NBC’s The Voice. In addition to the aforementioned selections, Musicbed also acquires James’ latest single Dream (released February 1, 2017 on iTunes). James co-wrote the song with indie pop artist and Dallas native Johnny Stimson, and the track was produced by longtime collaborator Geoff Rockwell. Her catalog will be available to license from the Musicbed website in the coming weeks at Musicbed.com.
James will be performing at the 2017 Fort Worth Main Street Arts Festival (a free event and the #1 arts festival in the state of Texas) on Saturday, April 22 at 7pm (Frost Bank Stage at 7th & Commerce). Information on this and other upcoming appearances can be found at ReaganJames.net.
